The world is a strange place to live. Many of us create our own worlds out of our own imagination. Some are sweeter than fiction and some may not. So here we are with a story named Sweeter than fiction which is a story of Jacob. Jacob is a common man just like you and me and he faces the similar situation which we sometimes face.

So the story goes like this, Jacob, working in the office feels very bored. He was bored of the same stereo type life in which he lives. The same sort of work everyday, from home to office and from office to home. He always use to think about a place which his grandfather tell in his stories 'The Paradise City'. As the name suggests it was a place where anything can happen. A place of possibilities, peace and satisfaction. A place where you have time to observe the world around you. Jacob was in fact is very much fascinated with this place. He had gone many times  to that place in his dreams. In his stories grandfather always used an address 23, Old Street Passage, Link Road, The Paradise City.

There was a big balcony  and a garden where he imagines to be sitting and observing the people during the sunset. Jacob always try to imagine the beauty of the place. While Jacob was lost in his world the clock struck 5:00 and it was the time to leave the office. He quickly packed all his stuffs and went to the railway station to catch his train to 15 Newell. While crossing tunnel B level 2, which he crosses everyday he surprisingly saw level 3  in that tunnel. During his 13 years of journey  through this station he had never observed level 3 in tunnel B, so he headed towards it and entered a platform. This platform was entirely different from other platforms and the people there too. There were dim yellow lights hanging each at a distance of almost 3 meters. The benches were made of wood, properly designed. The people also wore clothes which are outdated a long time ago. Men were wearing long cats seen in old movies. The place that Jacob was observing seemed to be centuries ago. He was not able to understand what was going on. Then he goes to shop to buy a newspaper. He was shocked after observing the date 24 October 1864. He asked the shopkeeper "Which year is going on?", the shopkeeper looked at him strangely and replied "1864, sir". By now Jacob was out of senses. He was not able to understand what's going on around him. Meanwhile he observed many routes to train. His eyes got struck to a name 'The paradise city' Jacob can not believe what he was observing. He start thinking is he awake or he is in dream? With all this going on in his mind he goes to he ticket counter to buy a ticket to the paradise city. He took the ticket and asked about the price. The man replied "two cents, sir" Jacob nearly screamed "What! Only 2 cents!". All the people surrounding him looked at him. Then he controlled himself and gave 2 cents went inside the train. Although, all wired things were happening in this day still Jacob was happy as he was going to the place he dreams of. He was excited as well as amazed, his dream was alive in front of his eyes.

By that time he reached to the destination. He then hurried himself search that address . While his search continues he observes all the things exactly as his grandfather's stories . The amusement park always described by his grandfather was right in front of him. It has a big see-saw and the merry-go-round were as stunning as in the stories. After sometimes he was outside the address 23, Old Street Passage, Link Road. He went inside the house no one was in there. He felt like that house was waiting for his arrival only. All things are the same as grandfather mentioned. He went to the balcony and observe the garden , people crossing and sunset. He had never felt like this before. It was so peaceful, calm and pleasant. He was lost in its beauty. He then whispered "I wished Shally and Martha were here too." Something struck in his mind "Shally and Martha, Where are they?" He came running out of the home. His excitement was now transformed into fear.He tried to wake up thinking this is a dream but failed. Then suddenly a flash of light appeared and he was outside his house. He got inside and hugged his wife and daughter. His daughter asked " Daddy, where were you?" he simply smiles at her question. He told shally about all  the things he observed. She eagerly listened to all his narration and told "Wish we could be there too."

Next day he met Dr. Clark, his friend and a psychiatrist. He told everything about his experience in the paradise city. Clark was a very practical person and he thinks there is always a explanation for everything. He said "This is not the first time you told me about the city. It was all in your mind . You experienced it as you keep on thinking about it all the time." Jacob also showed the tickets which he had taken there . Then Clark told "You must have got it somewhere inside your grandfather's stuffs ." 20 days passed. Jacob never found level  3 in tunnel B again, although he searches for it everyday. He tells Shally, we must never stop searching something no matter how many times we fail but something is there that will surprise you one day or the other. Now Jacob remain happy with his family, sometimes reality is sweeter than fiction he thinks.

One day the door rang and a letter arrived. IT was of Clark. It goes like this- "You were right there is a level 3 in tunnel B which lead to the paradise city and it was exactly the same as you mentioned. The amusement park, the address all are real! It is so peaceful out here. Never want to leave this kind of place. Please so come again with Shally and Martha.
Your friend
Clark
