“ALS moots for Criminal Law”

The moral arc of the universe bends at the elbow of justice. A great line said by Martin Luther King, Jr. So in accordance with this statement Amity Law School organized 2nd International Moot Court competition from February 20th to 22nd at Amity University, Noida. It involved remarkable participation of enthusiastic participation of 40 law schools. A moot court is extracurricular activity in law schools where students participate in stimulated court proceedings, draft briefs and memorials and indulge in oral arguments. The inaugural ceremony was commenced with the lightening of lamps by Prof Mamta Srivastava, additional director, ALS. The ceremony was graced by eminent jurists including honorable Justice Sudhanshu Jyoti Mukhopadhaya, judge, Supreme Court, India. The competition was divided into two bouts, preliminary round I and II, where all the teams argued for both prosecution and defense. The final round was judged by Justice AK Patnaik, tribunal judge, Cuttack Bench and four other eminent jurists.
