“Special convocation”

A convocation is very special for everyone as it reflects the fruit of one’s hard word. It is occasion eagerly awaited by the students. We all are students no matter how old we are, life keeps on teaching us new things each day. Amity University organized a Special Convocation for Prof (Dr) Yuan T. Lee, President Emeritus on Nobel Laureate honoring him for his great works.

This event was held on February 7, 2014.

The ceremony held, witnessed around 238

students from different branches of Amity

schools. Mr Atul Chauhan, Chancellor,

Amity University, Uttar Pradesh declared

the special convocation open and

conferred the honorary doctorate degrees

along with Mr Aseem Chauhan,

Chancellor, Amity University, Rajasthan;

Dr (Mrs) Balvinder Shukla, vice

Chancellor, Amity University and Dr D

V Singh, visitor, Amity University.

Dr Bindu N. Lohani was awarded the

honorary doctorate degree of Doctor of

Philosophy (D. Phil.) for his exceptional

Vision and deep commitment to the

Propagation of knowledge, professionalism

And direction in pursuit of excellence.

Nobel Laureate Professor (Dr.) Yuan T.

Lee was conferred degree of Doctor of

Science (D. Sc.) Honoris Causa for his

exceptional vision, deep commitment to

research, propagation of scientific enquiry,

continuous exemplary efforts in

innovating and improving technology.

Accepting the degree with gratitude, he

asked students to master their own lives,

have clarity about what they want to do

in future and live a truly meaningful life.
